After months of silence on the "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" front, we're being inundated with casting announcements! Yesterday, we brought you news that Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza had joined the "Scott Pilgrim" cast. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Pilgrim won't just have Johnny Storm to fight for Ramona Flowers' affection, but Superman, too. Brandon Routh has signed on to play evil boyfriend #3, Todd Ingram, a rocker with vegan psychic powers.
Not to be outdone by the established superheroes, Satya Bhabha will be playing ex #1, Matthew Patel, a man of mystical powers who can summon demon hipster girls at will. Mae Whitman will play ex #4, Roxanne Richter, Ramona's college roommate who is half ninja.
Scott's band Sex Bob-omb hasn't been forgotten in all this evil-ex casting madness. Mark Webber will play Stephen Stills, the band's lead guitarist and singer, while Alison Pill will play Kim Pine, the band's drummer and Johnny Simmons is Young Neil Nordegraf, the band's biggest fan.
Last, but not least, is Brie Larson, who will play Pilgrim's ex-girlfriend Natalie "Envy" Adams, and Anna Kendrick as Pilgrim's sister, Stacey. Whew. That's nearly the entire cast of characters, but as we're still missing the Twins, Gideon, the parental units, and other assorted background characters, you can expect a few more giant announcements like this one before filming begins this spring.
